» What is Reflexology?
Many people associate the word "massage" to reflexology, and although it looks similar to a massage, it ISN'T the same thing. The reflexology therapist does not rub your feet (as in a massage), but instead will use specific techniques to apply pressure to certain points (or reflexes) on the foot or hand.
Each of these reflexes is thought to relate to a specific organ, gland, or body part. This therapy should be applied (to the feet or hands) by a qualified therapist.
By stimulating the feet in this way, the reflexologist helps the body's immune system to function more efficiently. In this way reflexology becomes a preventative therapy as it helps all the body's systems to work together in a balanced way.
» Benefits of this therapy:
- Pain relief;
- Improves blood circulation;
- Boosts the immune system;
- Aids in the functioning of the body's nervous system;
- Increases the feeling of general well-being;
- Deep relaxation;
- Assists in the management of stress and anxiety...
Reflexology is not a miracle therapy, it doesn't substitute any medical treatment but rather a complementary therapy, helping the body to restore wellness. Therefore, we do not diagnose illnesses, nor make any prescriptions.
